ICONIC RACES

COMPETING IN ICONIC YACHT RACES AGAINST HOUSEHOLD NAMES FROM THE SAILING WORLD CREATES A WOW FACTOR THAT’S HARD TO BEAT

Iconic Races

The JP Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race is one of the world’s largest and most famous yacht races. There were just 25 entries when it was first raced over the 50-mile course in 1851. Since then the popularity of the race as we know it today has exploded. In 2009 there were 1,779 entries from around the world, among them the fleet of Clipper 68s, some of the biggest yachts on the Royal Yacht Squadron start line.

As well as the chance to race during Cowes Week, Clipper Events also offers options for spectators who wish to get out on the water but leave the hard work to others while they soak up the atmosphere of the race village and enjoy the spectacular Friday night firework display.

Attracting entrants from all over the world, the biennial Rolex Fastnet Race is one of the world’s classic ocean races. Clipper Events offers the opportunity to train and enter this event, as notorious for its unpredictable tidal and weather conditions as it is for the beauty of the scenery on the 607 mile course.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

Just a quick note to say thank you for the superb charters during Cowes Week. Every little detail was looked into. I can't stress enough how good you are to work with. The crews were great and all our customers came back on such a high. It made other guests (that had opted for our land-based package) very envious and they wished they had gone sailing. So a very big thank you all round.

Champagne Mumm, August 2007

Thank you for a wonderful day. It was great to meet you and experience first hand a Clipper 68 on the waves! The conditions were perfect, the boats are wonderful, and your hospitality was second to none.

I hope the rest of your season goes well before the fleet depart, and I look forward to seeing you again and introducing you to our team

Quintus, August 2007

Great experience with fabulous crew and a spectacular fleet of boats. We’ll be back for more next year!
