When the Clipper 68s return from theand more than 14,000 miles Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race they will have four circumnavigations and more than 14,000 miles under their hulls, and will have carried more than 3,000 sailors around the world. The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race fleet is tried and tested and the ten identical 68-foot yachts have proved themselves in the most extreme ocean racing conditions and in close quarter around the cans racing.
Designed by renowned naval architect, Ed Dubois, the stripped down racing yachts are designed for fast, downwind ocean racing and, with an open deck layout, provide a perfect platform for corporate events, management training and team development programmes.
The yachts are built for speed and safety and are therefore ideal for experienced and novice sailors alike and give an unparalleled hands on racing challenge.
The Clipper Events skippers are all highly qualified professional sailors, most of whom have circumnavigated with the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, or are preparing to do so and are employed to train our non-professional round the world crews.
They apply these same training techniques to all of our fleet racing events. By the time the start gun sounds on any event the teams on board are honed to a slick racing team, equipped with the skills to handle all elements of big boat sailing while the skipper concentrates on tactics and the safety of his crew.
