Providing the world’s largest matched ocean racing fleet to deliver exhilarating big boat racing for you and your guests, Clipper Ventures has reached a major milestone in the creation of an exciting new ocean racer, the Clipper 70.
Designed by renowned naval architect, Tony Castro, its rugged racing design looks set to deliver great performance. The inclusion of state of the art features in the new hull design will give better performance and, when surfing on big following seas, the Clipper 70 is likely to set new speed records compared to previous fleets, where crews can expect to top 30 knots in good weather conditions.
New features include twin helms, twin rudders and a six-foot bowsprit which includes the inclusion of a huge Code Zero sail to complement a suite of Yankee headsails, staysail and main. The new sail will increase performance in light airs and deliver higher daily average speeds. The mainsail will have three reefing points and will be set from a 92-foot mast.
The Clipper 70 will be making its debut at St. Katharine Docks, London from 12-20 January 2013, to step on board the next generation of ocean racers, click here.
Without doubt yesterday was one of the best corporate days I have done. Totally exhilarating, great weather, great crew and overall a fantastic day which will be remembered for a long time I’m sure.
Many thanks for your help.
A very big thank you for all your help with the Mace Clipper Challenge which surpassed all other sailing days we’ve had. As always your support and help has been fantastic throughout and very much appreciated. It is a pleasure to work with you guys. Great for business and great fun.
A week ago we were on board Uniquely Singapore racing in the Solent. I just wanted to take five minutes to say thank you for what is the best corporate day I have ever been a part of. Your crews were superb and treated us with the utmost care and attention. I have had numerous emails back from clients to say thank you for putting on such a splendid event.
